Jeremy LaBrooy
Jeremy LaBrooy is an Australian business owner, qualified primary teacher, and professional musician with decades of experience across education, business, and the creative industries. While trained as a primary school teacher, much of Jeremy’s classroom teaching has been in instrumental music at leading private schools in Melbourne, alongside his role as a Year 12 VCAA Music Performance examiner.
Jeremy’s entrepreneurial drive led to the creation of Vogue Entertainment, now one of Australia’s most respected entertainment agencies, booking everything from high-profile celebrities and major festival acts to bands and roving performers for corporate events, private functions, and local government events nationwide.
As a professional bass player, Jeremy has performed on television, in major arenas, and in theatre orchestras, including the Melbourne premiere of Les Misérables (1989), Mamma Mia, Hairspray, Billy Elliot, and many more. He also runs Bassic Training, an online bass education platform with students from around the world.
Homeschooling 101 grew from Jeremy’s passion for helping children discover music in a meaningful way. Whether it’s learning to appreciate great music or starting an instrument, studies consistently show that making music engages the whole brain—strengthening memory, attention, coordination, and confidence. Research also links music learning to improved problem-solving and emotional development, making it one of the most rewarding and effective tools parents can include in their homeschool journey.
